THE CARP WHO WOULD NOT QUIT

STREAMING MAY 16-27, 2022     $25 Per Class 

Celebrate Asian/Pacific Heritage Month with these enchanting retellings of traditional fables from Japan and Okinawa that teach important lessons of persistence, respect and kindness. Japanese and Okinawan music, language and culture are the heart of this performance featuring clever animals, puppetry, song, and a whole lot of fun for your students! Stories include The Rolling Musubi, the legend of the Rabbit in the Moon, and more!

GRADE LEVEL: PreK-3rd

 

RUNNING TIME: 55 minutes (33 minute performance + 22 minutes bonus content)

 

CURRICULUM CONNECTIONS:

  • Fine Arts: Performance, Film, Puppetry, Multi-media design

  • Language Arts: Oral History Interviews, traditional fables

  • History/Social Studies: Native & Indigenous Cultures; Man’s relationship/connection to Nature; Hawaiian, Pacific Island,  Japanese & Okinawa culture & history
